The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates representing their respective political parties for the 2027 presidential election.
The list as released contains 18 presidential candidates representing 18 political parties. It includes incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, Incumbent Governor, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State (APM), among other contenders.
The publication marks another step in the electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections and provides the public with the confirmed candidates and their respective political parties.
According to INEC’s revised timetable, the presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled to hold on January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State House of Assembly elections will follow on February 6, 2027.
The commission is expected to continue preparations for the polls in line with its electoral timetable as political parties intensify their campaigns and mobilisation ahead of the elections.
