The United States Mission in Nigeria has urged Nigerian citizens travelling to the U.S. to fully comply with immigration regulations and the terms of their visas throughout their stay.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Tuesday, the mission advised travellers visiting the United States for education, employment, or tourism purposes to respect the duration permitted on their visas, ensure their travel documents remain valid, and avoid any actions that could jeopardize future entry into the country.
The mission emphasized that adherence to U.S. immigration laws is crucial for safeguarding future opportunities related to travel, education, and career development in the United States.
It noted that following immigration rules not only demonstrates responsible conduct but also helps Nigerian travellers maintain access to future opportunities in the U.S.
“Staying compliant with U.S. immigration laws isn’t just the right thing to do; it protects your future and keeps opportunities open for Nigerian travelers,” the statement said.
