Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has enlisted in the United States Army, saying the decision was inspired by his late father, a former Nigeria Police officer, whose legacy he wanted to honour 20 years after his death.
Announcing the milestone on Instagram on Friday, Joseph shared photos from his graduation after completing 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training. He revealed that he enlisted on April 12, 2026, and described the training as physically and mentally demanding, saying it tested his resilience through long days, sleepless nights, harsh weather and intense military drills.
He added that he was cut off from communication throughout the training and emerged stronger after the experience.
Joseph also announced that he has attained the rank of Specialist (SPC) and is now serving with the 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, expressing gratitude as he begins a new chapter in his military career.
