The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the creative economy with the graduation of a new cohort from the Eko Studio Culture Programme, an initiative designed to equip young people with industry-relevant skills for employment, entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat described the programme as a key milestone in the state’s drive to empower young creatives through sustained investment in skills development, innovation and the creative industry. He noted that training in Sound Engineering, DJing, Music Production, Sound Design/Movie Scoring and the Music Business has prepared participants for successful careers and entrepreneurship.
The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, said the programme was created to bridge the gap between talent and economic opportunity through classroom learning, virtual sessions, practical training and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
The event was attended by key government officials, including the Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lolade Aina, other permanent secretaries, development partners and industry leaders, all reaffirming their commitment to advancing Lagos State’s creative economy.
