The Adewale Akodu Campaign Council has appointed Comrade Yusuf Yunus, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Chapel, as Director-General of the campaign for the NUJ Lagos State Council chairmanship election.
The appointment recognises Yunus’s wealth of experience, leadership qualities, organisational skills and understanding of journalism and union politics. He is widely respected among colleagues for his determination, result-oriented approach, professional knowledge and ability to build strong relationships across the journalism community.
As Director-General, Yunus is expected to coordinate campaign activities, strengthen engagement with NUJ members across chapels and mobilise support for Adewale Akodu’s leadership aspirations.
The Campaign Council expressed confidence that his strategic insight and familiarity with the union’s dynamics would contribute significantly to the campaign’s effectiveness and organisational growth.
