Hundreds of commuters and motorists were left stranded on Wednesday after a severe traffic jam disrupted movement along the Lagos–Ore–Benin Expressway. The congestion reportedly began when a tanker driver obstructed a section of the highway at Oniparaga in Ondo State.
The blockage, which persisted for several hours, resulted in a lengthy gridlock on the major interstate route, trapping passengers, commercial transport operators, and other road users.
Initial reports shared on social media suggested that tanker and trailer drivers had staged a protest in response to alleged harassment and extortion by police officers operating along the corridor
