The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), in partnership with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), will hold a joint stakeholder engagement to address concerns over price tagging, product labelling, and return/refund policies in the marketplace.
Announcing the initiative, LASCOPA General Manager/CEO, Afolabi Solebo, described it as the first engagement of its kind under the agencies’ collaborative framework. The forum, themed “Price Tagging, Minimum Labelling Requirements and Return/Refund: The Implications of Non-Regulatory Compliance,” will bring together key stakeholders, including the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Retail Council of Nigeria (RCN), the National Association of Supermarket Operators, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), consumer advocacy groups and other regulatory bodies.
The FCCPC Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Tunji Bello, will be represented by the Commission’s South-West Zonal Coordinator, Dr. (Mrs.) Olubunmi Dorcas Otti.
Discussions will focus on compliance with price display regulations, minimum product labelling standards, product information disclosure, and effective procedures for handling complaints involving defective products, returns, exchanges and refunds. Consumers have also been invited to submit questions and concerns ahead of the meeting via lascopapau@gmail.com.
The stakeholder engagement is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa CBD, Ikeja, as part of efforts to strengthen consumer rights, promote transparency, accountability and fair business practices across Lagos State.
