The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has taken its Interns on a guided tour of the J.K.Randle Centre and Freedom Park as part of efforts to deepen their knowledge of the state’s cultural heritage and history.
The J.K.Randle located in Onikan, is a major heritage destination dedicated to showcasing Yoruba culture, traditions, and history.The centre was redeveloped by the Lagos State Government and commissioned in 2023 as part of efforts to promote cultural preservation and Tourism in the state.
Equally on the other hand, they also visited Freedom Park, an historical site located on the former site of Broad Street Prison. The park preserves aspects of Lagos colonial and independence history while serving as a venue for artistic, cultural and recreational activities.
The educational tour highlights the importance of exposing the younger generations to Lagos cultural assets. Such experiences can help deepen their understanding of the state’s heritage and strengthen their ability to contribute to the promotion of Tourism and Culture at their Ministry.
