The Lagos State Government is deepening its push for sustainable tourism and cultural development from the grassroots up.
On Saturday, 22nd August 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture held a strategic engagement with grassroots stakeholders at Delborough Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The high-level meeting was convened by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Bopo Ismaila Oyekan.
Themed “A Lagos that Works for Everyone, Everywhere”, the session brought together Supervisors for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Special Advisers, representatives from all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, as well as key development partners.

The engagement provided a vital platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and exploring strategic partnerships aimed at unlocking the tourism and cultural potential in every community across the state.
Discussions focused on how LGAs and LCDAs can drive tourism initiatives locally, preserve cultural heritage, create jobs for youths, and position Lagos as the leading tourism and entertainment hub in Africa.
With this renewed collaboration, LASG is set to ensure that tourism and culture are not just centered in a few areas, but felt and celebrated in every part of Lagos.
