Veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, has died at the age of 84.
His son, Oluṣọ́jí Jacobs, announced his passing in an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, stating that the family was grateful for his life and appealed to the public to respect their privacy.
The family described the late actor as their “dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle” and referred to him as “The Lion of Lufodo.”
Olu Jacobs was widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s veteran actors and film executives, with a career spanning several decades.
