Hundreds of residents in Osogbo, Osun State, have been left seeking answers and the recovery of their funds following the reported sudden closure of a company that sold food items at prices way below the market rates.
This company reportedly attracted a large number of customers in recent months by offering items including rice, cooking oil, spaghetti and semovita at significantly reduced prices, gaining the interest of the masses in their scheme.
Affected customers allegedly paid substantial sums in anticipation of receiving food packages and other benefits. However, the company reportedly shut down its operations without fulfilling what was expected of them.
Tension reportedly rose when people realized what had happened, and affected customers gathered at the company’s premises in the Odi-Olowo area to demand explanations and the recovery of their money.
