The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has confirmed his death, throwing fans and members of the gospel music community into mourning.
In a statement shared on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the family announced that the singer died in the early hours of the day.
The statement identified him as a minister with Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), describing him as a dearly loved husband, family member and gospel minister.
The family appealed to the public to keep his wife, relatives and loved ones in their prayers as they come to terms with the painful loss. It added that details of his funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
The cause of his death had not been officially disclosed as of the time of reporting.
News of his passing sparked emotional reactions from fans, colleagues and public figures. Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates, expressed sadness over the development, while fellow gospel artiste Mega99 described the late singer as a rare talent with a unique voice.
The development comes months after Toluwanisings and members of his music crew survived a road accident in July 2026 while returning from a gospel ministration. The singer had shared pictures of the damaged vehicle on social media and expressed gratitude that they survived.
However, the family has not linked the earlier accident to his death.
Toluwanisings was known for his gospel music ministry and contributions to Nigeria’s Christian music scene. His death has left fans and fellow gospel ministers grieving as they await further details from his family.
