The Lagos State Government has invited event organisers, promoters, creatives, hospitality operators, cultural institutions and other stakeholders to submit proposals for seasonal activities and celebrations across the state.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, aims to create a coordinated calendar of events covering Christmas, New Year, Easter, Eid, Independence Day and other cultural festivities. It also seeks to promote Lagos as a leading African destination for tourism, entertainment, culture and hospitality while creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors across Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.
Eligible submissions may include festivals and carnivals, concerts, live shows, theatre and comedy performances, beach and waterfront activities, food, fashion and lifestyle fairs, art exhibitions, cultural showcases, family and community events, as well as sports and recreational activities.
Speaking at her office in Alausa on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, said the initiative would harmonise seasonal events across Lagos, improve visibility, encourage wider participation and increase economic opportunities for stakeholders.
She explained that Lagos thrives on celebrations and that the platform would enable event organisers to benefit from the state’s promotional channels and reach a wider audience.
According to the commissioner, selected events will be featured on the official Lagos Tourism Calendar, promoted through the ministry’s digital platforms and considered for collaboration and logistical support where applicable.
Submission Requirements
Interested organisers are required to provide the event name, a brief description and objectives, proposed dates and venue, target audience, and the organiser’s contact details.
Proposals should be submitted to the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Block 10, The Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
