President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the free registration of 250,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of the 8th National MSME Awards, aimed at supporting small businesses and promoting economic growth.
According to the announcement, eligible business owners can apply through the SMEDAN portal.
Businesses already registered on the SMEDAN database but yet to obtain their Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration will automatically qualify for the registration fee waiver.
This initiative is expected to formalize more businesses, improve access to funding opportunities, and strengthen Nigeria’s MSME sector.
