The Directors of Public Affairs from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the Lagos State Government on Friday hosted a grand farewell dinner in honour of the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, in recognition of his exceptional service, leadership, and immense contributions to the state’s public information management system.
The event, which brought together senior government officials, public affairs practitioners, and stakeholders in the communication sector, served as a platform to celebrate Mr. Bajulaiye’s remarkable career and enduring impact on the Lagos State Public Service.
Leading the distinguished guests at the event was the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, who paid glowing tribute to the outgoing Permanent Secretary, describing him as a dedicated, disciplined, and highly professional public servant whose commitment to excellence has left an indelible mark on the Ministry and the State Government.
According to the Commissioner, Mr. Bajulaiye’s years of service were characterised by integrity, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of effective government communication and public engagement.
The Directors of Public Affairs, in their separate remarks, applauded Mr. Bajulaiye for his exemplary leadership, mentorship, and support towards the growth of the Public Affairs cadre. They noted that his open-door policy, wealth of experience, and commitment to teamwork contributed significantly to strengthening collaboration among Public Affairs Officers across Lagos State.
They further described him as a mentor and administrator whose guidance inspired professionalism and excellence in the discharge of their duties, while expressing appreciation for his invaluable contributions to the development of strategic communication within the public service.
Responding to the outpouring of goodwill, Mr. Bajulaiye expressed profound gratitude to the Directors of Public Affairs for the honour bestowed upon him. He thanked the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth and development of the State.
He also encouraged Public Affairs Officers to remain committed to the core values of professionalism, integrity, dedication, and innovation in promoting government policies, programmes, and achievements to the public.
