    Bajulaiye Retires at 60, Leaves Enduring Legacy in Lagos Public Service

    The Lagos State Public Service has celebrated the retirement of Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaiye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, as he bows out after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60, bringing to a close a distinguished career marked by excellence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service.

    Widely regarded as one of Lagos State’s foremost technocrats and communication strategists, Bajulaiye earned widespread admiration for his visionary leadership, integrity, and dedication to advancing effective governance through strategic communication.

    During his tenure as Permanent Secretary, he spearheaded significant reforms that strengthened government-media relations, enhanced public information management, and improved citizens’ access to government policies, programmes, and achievements. He also championed transparency, professionalism, ethical journalism, and effective public communication across the State’s public service.

    Beyond his administrative accomplishments, Bajulaiye was renowned for his passion for mentorship and human capital development. He invested in nurturing the next generation of public servants, empowering officers across ministries, departments, and agencies through guidance, encouragement, and exemplary leadership. His calm disposition, discipline, and people-centred approach earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and stakeholders alike.

    Tributes poured in from government officials, family members, friends, professional associates, and media practitioners, who described him as a transformational leader whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the Lagos State Public Service. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Information Chapel, also commended his exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and immense contributions to journalism and public communication.

    Those who worked closely with him recalled his administrative competence, humility, wisdom, and ability to navigate complex communication challenges with diplomacy and professionalism. Many expressed confidence that his wealth of experience will continue to serve society through mentorship, strategic communication, and policy advocacy in retirement.

    As he takes a well-deserved bow from active public service, Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaiye leaves behind a legacy built on excellence, integrity, innovation, and selfless service, a legacy that will continue to inspire current and future generations of public servants in Lagos State.
