The countdown to the maiden National Intermediate Games has officially begun following the unveiling of the official logo and mascot for EKO 2026 at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja.
The launch, organised by the Local Organising Committee (LOC), marks a major milestone ahead of Nigeria’s biggest youth multi-sport festival. According to the committee, the logo and mascot represent the ambition, resilience, unity and excellence of young Nigerian athletes, while reflecting the vibrant spirit of Lagos, the host of the inaugural National Intermediate Games.
The unveiling also signaled the start of the #RoadToEko2026 campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at showcasing inspiring athlete stories, engaging schools and communities, promoting Nigeria’s sporting culture and building excitement ahead of the opening ceremony.
The LOC called on athletes, schools, families, sports enthusiasts, partners, creators and Nigerians to join the movement by following EKO 2026’s official digital platforms for updates, competition schedules, behind-the-scenes content and fan engagement activities.
Organisers said EKO 2026 is not just about hosting a sporting competition but creating a lasting legacy that will inspire the next generation of champions.
