The heartbreaking news was confirmed by South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, who described Adams as one of the nation’s brightest young football talents. He extended condolences to the player’s family, teammates and supporters, saying the country mourns alongside them.
Police have launched an investigation after the footballer’s body was discovered at a residence in Schotschekloof, a suburb in central Cape Town, on Saturday morning.
Authorities stressed that the cause of Adams’ death has not yet been established and urged the public and media to avoid speculation while respecting the privacy of his family and Mamelodi Sundowns. They added that official updates will be released when investigations are concluded.
