Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has challenged graduating students of Babcock University to embrace excellence, pursue lifelong learning, and remain resilient in the face of challenges as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
The Governor gave the charge on Sunday while delivering the 2026 Undergraduate Convocation Lecture as the Guest Speaker at the university’s convocation ceremony held in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
Speaking on the theme, “Breaking New Grounds,” Governor Sanwo-Olu encouraged the graduates to dream beyond limitations, innovate with purpose, and take advantage of opportunities that will position them for success in a rapidly evolving world.
He stressed that true success is built on knowledge, discipline, hard work, and integrity, urging the graduating class to become solution providers and responsible leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities and the nation at large.
The Governor also advised the graduates not to glorify ignorance but to continually seek knowledge, develop their skills, and remain committed to personal growth, noting that education remains one of the most powerful tools for transformation and national development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the management of Babcock University for sustaining a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and character development, describing the institution as one that has consistently produced graduates who are making meaningful contributions across different sectors.
In recognition of his exemplary leadership and outstanding contributions to governance and public service, the Lagos State Governor was presented with the Babcock University Leadership and Service Award during the convocation ceremony.
The event attracted members of the university community, government officials, parents, alumni, captains of industry, and other distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class.
