The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has restored the free flow of traffic along Emmanuel Street, Maryland, after carrying out an enforcement operation against indiscriminate parking caused by an event at Leola Hotel.
The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, explained that the event attracted a large number of attendees, resulting in parking overflow, with several vehicles double-parked along Emmanuel Street and the adjoining junction, causing severe traffic congestion.
She said LASPA’s enforcement team swiftly intervened, clamping 14 vehicles found to have violated the State’s parking regulations. The operation significantly eased traffic in the area.
Adelabu added that the enforcement team also educated hotel staff, motorists and event attendees on responsible parking practices and the need to comply with Lagos State parking regulations. She disclosed that the management of Leola Hotel was sanctioned for the parking violations, while all clamped vehicles were later released in line with established procedures.
The LASPA General Manager urged operators of event centres and hospitality businesses to make adequate parking arrangements for guests and ensure compliance with parking regulations to prevent traffic disruptions and avoid enforcement actions.
