The Federal Government has reportedly approved the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to take over the admission process for Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes across Nigeria.
The development is expected to bring HND admissions under JAMB’s centralised admission system, with the aim of streamlining and standardising admission processes into polytechnics nationwide.
JAMB’s existing mandate already covers admissions into universities, polytechnics and colleges of education, making the proposed HND admission takeover an expansion of its role in coordinating tertiary admissions across the country.
