The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), has reaffirmed its commitment to improving education standards across public and private schools through technology-driven, evidence-based and results-oriented quality assurance measures.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, made this known at an Education Quality Assurance Roundtable organised by OEQA at Protea Hotel, Ikeja.
The event, themed “Adopting Global Best Practice in Transforming Education Quality Assurance in Lagos State,” with the sub-theme “Developing Efficient Quality Assurance System for Improved Learning Outcomes in Lagos State,” brought together stakeholders to discuss practical ways to improve the standard of education across the state.
Declaring the roundtable open, Alli-Balogun described the engagement as timely, noting that it would promote critical discussions and generate practical ideas for strengthening education quality assurance.

He emphasised the need for an integrated approach to school evaluation, professional support, institutional accountability and technology adoption to improve teaching effectiveness and students’ learning outcomes.
The initiative also proposed measures such as school-based evaluation and digital monitoring, alongside other strategies aimed at strengthening quality assurance, promoting accountability and ensuring better educational outcomes across Lagos State.
The government reiterated that adopting global best practices and embracing innovation would help build a more effective education quality assurance system and improve the overall standard of teaching and learning in the state.
