Sixty-eight passengers escaped unhurt after an Enugu Air aircraft crash-landed at Benin Airport on Thursday during a commercial flight from Enugu to Benin and Lagos.
According to reports, the aircraft, registered 5N-ENR, overshot the runway and veered into nearby bushes after landing. The 68 passengers were on board in addition to the crew, although the exact number of crew members was not disclosed.
A source at the airport said the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) responded immediately, evacuating all passengers safely. No casualties were recorded, while the circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be officially explained.
