Nigeria has been officially confirmed as the host of the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards, with Lagos selected as the host city for the prestigious event.
CAF announced that the awards ceremony will take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, in Iganmu, Lagos.
The event will mark Nigeria’s first time hosting the CAF Awards since 2015, bringing Africa’s top football stars back to the country after more than a decade.
The 2026 edition will recognise outstanding achievements across African football, with awards including Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year, alongside several other individual and team honours.
The African Player of the Year award is expected to be the highlight of the ceremony, celebrating the continent’s best-performing footballer.
