The Nigerian Law School has confirmed the death of Faith Alayande, a student of the Nigerian Law School, Enugu campus, who was undergoing the externship programme in Lagos.
According to the institution, the incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026. Preliminary information indicated that the student fell from the hostel rooftop and subsequently died from the incident.
The Law School said it is working with relevant authorities and the deceased’s family to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.The Lagos State Police Command also commenced an investigation after the incident was reported by the hostel matron, with the student’s body subsequently evacuated to a morgue.
The Nigerian Law School expressed condolences to Alayande’s family, colleagues and others affected by the loss, while appealing to the public and media to respect the family’s request for privacy as investigations continue.
