ALausa, Lagos — The Lagos State Government has presented Retirement Benefit Bond Certificates and disbursed N1.13 billion to 732 retirees at the 116th Retirement Benefit Bond Certificate Presentation Ceremony organised by the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC).
The ceremony, held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at NECA House, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja, brought together retirees from the State Civil Service, Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, LASUBEB, TESCOM and other government parastatals.
The presentation underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to the prompt payment of retirement benefits and the welfare of senior citizens.

LASPEC said its sensitisation and documentation initiatives have helped eliminate prolonged delays in the payment of retirement benefits in the state.
The Commission also reaffirmed Lagos State’s position as a leading example of pension administration in Nigeria, while highlighting the administration’s commitment to sustaining excellence in public service.
The development further reflects the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to improving the welfare and well-being of retirees across Lagos State.
