A beneficiary of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Mr. Kehinde Lawal, has presented his “Best Digital Representation” award to the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila.
The presentation was made on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Permanent Secretary’s office in Alausa, Ikeja, as a gesture of appreciation for the guidance and mentorship Lawal received during his fellowship at the Academy.
Lawal, a public servant and teacher at Government Senior College, Agege, explained that the decision to present the honour to the Permanent Secretary was motivated by the support and encouragement she provided throughout his participation in the LJLA fellowship programme.
The award, presented to recognise his achievement in digital representation, reflects Lawal’s creativity and dedication in using various digital platforms to promote and project the activities of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy.
His recognition also highlights the growing role of digital communication in public-sector engagement, particularly in creating awareness, promoting government initiatives and reaching wider audiences through online platforms.
While receiving the award, Mrs. Oyekan-Ismaila congratulated Lawal and commended his commitment to creativity and excellence. She encouraged him to continue improving his digital and professional skills while using them responsibly to make meaningful contributions to his workplace and society.
The Permanent Secretary also highlighted the importance of mentorship in preparing young professionals for leadership responsibilities. She urged participants in government-supported development programmes to make effective use of the knowledge and experience gained during such opportunities.
According to her, developing strong leadership capacity among young professionals remains essential to building a new generation of individuals who can contribute positively to public service and the wider society.
The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy is a leadership development initiative of the Lagos State Government established to equip young professionals with leadership knowledge, skills and experiences that can prepare them for greater responsibilities in both the public and private sectors.
The presentation further demonstrates the impact of mentorship and capacity-building programmes in encouraging young professionals to develop their talents and apply them towards meaningful contributions to Lagos State and society.
