The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions against accepting admission offers outside the approved Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
The board stressed that candidates must ensure their admission offers are processed and approved through CAPS, the official platform used to manage and monitor admissions into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions.
JAMB’s warning is aimed at protecting candidates from irregular admission offers and ensuring transparency and compliance with established admission guidelines. Candidates who accept offers outside the approved process risk having their admissions questioned or not officially recognised.
The board urged candidates to verify their admission status through the appropriate official channels and avoid relying on unofficial promises or arrangements from individuals or institutions.
Candidates are therefore advised to follow JAMB’s approved admission procedures and confirm that their offers are properly reflected on CAPS before accepting them.
