A series of crashes at Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of Friday left one person dead and two others injured.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the first accident involved five articulated trucks and a Toyota Sienna, with preliminary investigations attributing the crash to excessive speed and loss of control. While emergency responders were clearing the wreckage, a commercial bus was involved in a second crash at the same location.
The incidents caused severe traffic congestion, prompting the FRSC to advise motorists to avoid the Kara–Ojodu Berger corridor and use alternative routes as recovery and clearance operations continue.
