The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced an increase in daily trips on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line from 90 to 94, effective June 15, 2026.
Under the revised schedule, weekday and Saturday services will now commence at 6:00 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than the previous departure time. Sunday operations have also been expanded from 22 to 24 trips to accommodate growing passenger demand.
According to LAMATA, the service enhancement is designed to improve commuter experience by reducing waiting times, easing congestion, and providing more reliable travel options for Lagos residents.
Since passenger operations began in September 2023, the Blue Line has transported over six million commuters, highlighting its growing importance in Lagos State’s efforts to develop a modern, efficient, and integrated public transportation system.
