The Lagos State Government has urged motorists using the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to plan their journeys ahead as repair works on the Kara Bridge begin tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The Federal Ministry of Works will commence repairs on the damaged expansion joints of the bridge, with the rehabilitation expected to last two weeks.
To minimise traffic disruption, one half of the affected section will be closed at a time, while motorists will share the other open half interchangeably.
The Lagos State Government appealed to motorists to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic managers to ensure the repairs are completed within the scheduled two-week period.
