The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, through the Lagos State Examinations Board, has announced the successful and hitch-free conduct of the 2026 Placement Test for Primary Six pupils seeking admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) across designated examination centres in the state.
To ensure compliance with examination guidelines, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, monitored the exercise at Central Primary School, Government Reservation Estate, Ikeja, where he expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the examination. He noted that the exercise was peaceful, free of overcrowding and adequately supervised, while encouraging parents to support the state’s education agenda under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda, which prioritises education and technology.
The Commissioner emphasised that quality education remains essential for developing children’s character, academic excellence and moral values, adding that investing in education is key to building a better future for the state and the nation.
Also monitoring the exercise, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, visited Ojodu Primary Schools I, II and III, where she commended the organisation of the examination, the professionalism of officials and the discipline displayed by pupils. She urged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s education through regular participation in Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, academic supervision and moral guidance. She also praised Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for their continued investment in the education sector.
The Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, led monitoring teams to Agidingbi Grammar School and other examination centres across Epe, Ibeju-Lekki and other parts of the state. He commended the smooth conduct of the examination, prompt distribution of materials, strict adherence to operational guidelines and the professionalism of examination officials.
The Board also appreciated the contributions of Executive Secretaries, LGEA Heads of Service, examination officials, security agencies, parents and other stakeholders whose cooperation ensured the success of the exercise.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining credible, transparent and technology-driven assessment processes that promote excellence and strengthen confidence in Lagos State’s education system.
