The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has intensified consultations with religious and community leaders as part of his preparations for the upcoming poll.
Oyebamiji recently visited Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland and National President of Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen, in Iwo, Osun State, where he sought the Islamic scholar’s prayers, counsel and support for his political ambition.
The former Osun State Commissioner for Finance described the meeting as an important part of his engagement with influential religious and community figures whose guidance, he said, would be valuable as the election approaches.
Oyebamiji said his visit was aimed at seeking prayers and advice towards his vision of building a peaceful, prosperous and united Osun State. He also expressed appreciation to Sheikh Molaasan for his warm reception and willingness to engage with his campaign.
The APC candidate stated that he would continue reaching out to traditional rulers, religious leaders and community stakeholders across the state as preparations for the 2026 governorship election gather momentum.
According to him, the experience and guidance of these leaders remain important in promoting unity and ensuring that the interests of the people remain at the centre of his political agenda.
Oyebamiji also thanked the Islamic scholar for his counsel and prayers, while praying for him to be blessed with wisdom, strength and long life to continue his service to humanity and society.
The candidate expressed confidence that through faith, unity and collective effort, his administration would be able to pursue his vision for a better Osun State if elected.
He added that his ongoing consultations would continue to focus on building relationships with stakeholders and gaining their support ahead of the election.
