The Plateau State Police Command has arrested 32 suspects in connection with alleged kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, drug related offences and other criminal activities across the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ayodeji Faniyan, disclosed this on Friday during a briefing at the command headquarters in Jos.
He said the operations also resulted in the recovery of 10 rifles and 54 rounds of live ammunition. The weapons recovered included an AK-47 rifle, locally fabricated firearms and a General Purpose Machine Gun.
Faniyan said the command had intensified intelligence-led operations and collaboration with other security agencies and local communities to tackle crime.
He added that investigations into the cases were ongoing, while efforts were being made to apprehend other suspected criminals still at large.
The commissioner urged residents to remain vigilant and provide the police with credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities.
