Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented N3.1 billion in compensation to 331 property owners whose lands and buildings were acquired for major infrastructure projects across the state. In a statement shared on his official X account on Monday, July 20, the governor said the compensation reflects his administration’s commitment to fairness, transparency and accountability while delivering critical public infrastructure. Petroleum marketers have suspended large-scale fuel loading at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery following the company’s decision to sell petrol in dollars, raising concerns about possible fuel shortages across Nigeria. Two of the three siblings abducted while transporting their mother’s body from Abuja to Benue State for burial have regained their freedom, while one remains in captivity. The siblings were kidnapped around 4 a.m. on Saturday between Omutele and Ankpechi along the Ogobia-Otukpo Road in Oglewu District, Ohimini Local Government Area, as they travelled to Iklenyi community in Okpokwu LGA for their mother’s burial. Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has been elected the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), defeating two other senior lawyers in the association’s 2026 national election.
