The Lagos State Government has announced plans to sponsor selected Lagos State Youth Ambassadors on a study tour to the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore from July 6 to 15, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen youth leadership and governance capacity.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, said the initiative reflects the state’s commitment to equipping young leaders with global knowledge, practical leadership skills, and innovative public policy experience.
According to him, the study tour will expose participants to best practices in public leadership, governance, policy innovation, sustainable development, strategic planning, and technology-driven public administration. He noted that the programme is designed to help beneficiaries adapt global ideas to local realities and drive meaningful development across Lagos State.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, described the initiative as another milestone in the state’s sustained investment in youth development, noting that previous study tours to Spain (2022), Finland (2024), and Canada (2025) have produced youth leaders making positive impacts in their communities.
She added that the Singapore programme will further prepare participants to become globally competitive leaders capable of contributing to governance, innovation, and nation-building.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities that empower young people through international learning experiences, while urging beneficiaries to translate the knowledge gained into impactful community projects and active civic engagement upon their return.
