Lagos State University (LASU) has reopened its 2026/2027 admission screening portal, giving eligible candidates another opportunity to complete their registration for admission into the institution’s undergraduate programmes. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Nigerians that passport application and processing services remain fully operational nationwide, despite the ongoing migration of additional passport offices to the Central Personalization Centre (CPC). According to the Service, the migration is part of efforts to improve passport production and enhance service delivery and has not disrupted operations at any passport office. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, with 1,200,514 candidates (61.54%) obtaining at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics. President Bola Tinubu has approved a salary increase of 30 to 80 per cent for members of Nigeria’s armed forces, with the new pay structure taking effect from September 1. Under the revised package, Brigadier-Generals, Major-Generals, Lieutenant Generals, and Generals will receive a 30% salary increase. Personnel from Colonel to Warrant Officer will enjoy a 50% raise, while those from Private to Staff Sergeant will receive the highest increase of 80%.
